We’ve been paying close attention to an issue our client submitted to MBS Support. The issue relates to promotion of e-mail for clients running CRM Update Rollup 4. By uninstalling Rollup 4, the issue was resolved.

Symptoms:

When the display name contains a combination of parentheses, spaces and ‘@’, the CRM outlook client throws an error ‘Invalid Email Address’ when you attempt to perform a manual promotion to CRM.
Workaround:
====================================
Change the display name of the user such that it doesn’t contain a combination of space, parentheses and ‘@’
This issue is known to occur when Update Rollup 4 is installed.
